Ryan Eckert, MS, CSCS, NSCA-CPT
Founder/Owner & Head Coach
My educational background is in exercise science and nutrition with a focus on strength and conditioning. I chose to study exercise science as I am passionate about the human body as it relates to health, wellness, and human performance. Strength and conditioning is a sub-field within the realm of exercise science, and it involves preparing humans physically and psychologically for athletic performance. I love the process of working with individuals and progressing them towards higher athletic performance in the pursuit of their fitness and performance goals. I grew up playing baseball and continued with the sport up through my freshman year of college while playing for the Arizona State club baseball team. A combination of changing priorities in college and the realization that baseball was not the sport I was meant to dedicate my time and energy towards led to the end of my baseball career. The following few years after I stopped playing baseball were tough as I felt like I had a massive void in my life. In 2014, I began running and cycling, and this eventually led me to my first triathlon in 2015. I have been a dedicated triathlete ever since, having competed in road running races ranging from 5Ks to marathons, trail running races, duathlons, and triathlons ranging from sprint-distance races to ironman-distance events. A few of my long-term personal goals are to win an Ironman 70.3 overall as an amateur and to eventually work towards qualifying for my pro card in triathlon.

Taylor Newgaard, RN, BSN, BA, ACSM-CPT
Taylor Newgaard started her swimming career when she was 7 years old and began swim coaching when she was 15 years old. She grew up in Arizona and moved briefly after accepting a swimming scholarship at the University of Iowa, where she swam competitively all four years and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health & Human Physiology. Her coaching career continued when she moved back to Arizona after college, where she coached athletes ranging from children to adults. In 2015, Taylor began competing in triathlon while she was completing her second degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. Since then she has completed four Ironmans (Ironman Arizona 2015, 2016, & 2018), earning the ROKA First out of the Water (FOTW) award in her age group all four years, and was the overall female winner of the 2018 Lifetime Tempe International-Distance Triathlon. This led her to begin coaching triathletes on swim technique and open water swim skills. Taylor is currently working as a PICU Nurse at Phoenix Children's Hospital and as a Swim Coach with Peak Endurance Solutions. Taylor holds a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) designation through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and is a Certified Level I Coach through the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA).
