About the event

The 3rd Annual 'Reach Your Peak' Winter Swim Camp is presented by Peak Endurance Solutions. This is a 3-day swim camp led by coaches Ryan Eckert and Taylor Newgaard. The focus of this swim camp is on basic swim skills and open-water swim skills, tailored specifically for triathletes. Detailed event information, including a schedule of events as well as equipment needed for the swim camp, will be sent in an email after you have completed your registration.

There will be three 1-hour swim sessions in this swim camp, and each day will have a unique focus, ranging from proper body posture, alignment and propulsion to open water skills that can be practiced in the pool (e.g., sighting, bilateral breathing, congested swimming, etc.). The purpose of this swim camp is to give triathletes some instruction on foundational swim skills and to provide each athlete with drills that should be incorporated into the athlete's pool-based swim training program for continual improvement. Additionally, over the course of the three days, we will pull all athletes aside individually for 10-15 minutes to film swim technique from both an underwater and above water vantage points. After the swim camp, we will analyze each athlete's swim technique and send a 1-page report with 1) a summary of the strength and weaknesses of the athlete's swim stroke, 2) a list of drills that will help the athlete improve the weakness in their swim stroke, and 3) the video links to their swim stroke footage. All athletes will walk away from the swim camp therefore with a better understanding of the foundational components that make up an efficienct and proficient swim stroke for triathlon as well as individual insights into improving their individual swim technique.

What have past camp attendees said about their experience?

"Ryan and Taylor are one of a kind! They are so knowledgeable and professional. They have a unique way of explaining techniques and giving tips/tricks to help the athlete properly apply the technique. They broke down swimming into several different components, explained why things were done a certain way, then provided drills where the proper technique was practiced. They were very detail oriented and gave feedback to each person during the drill to ensure that the person was performing it correctly. I learned so much over the 3 day camp and can already say that I am much more confident and comfortable swimming. I highly recommend Peak Endurance Solutions, Ryan and Taylor are incredible!" - S., 2019 Camp Attendee

"As a runner trying to get into triathlons I was quite nervous about attending a swimming camp with many good/experienced swimmers. I quickly found out that my feelings were unwarranted.  The camp was incredibly instructive and everything was very well explained. We spent each day with a 1 hour "classroom" session on the grass in El Dorado Park complete with a whiteboard and illustrations. Once in the pool we practiced the drills that had been explained to us.  I especially liked how each drill was broken into 25 yard increments so that after each lap we were critiqued and could ask questions. Though the entire camp was just 3 hours of pool time I learned a lot, improved my technique, and found that I actually enjoy swimming much more than I realized! I highly recommend this camp!" -  Jennifer G., 2019 Camp Attendee

"Peak Endurance Solutions swim camp is great for any level of swimmer. They teach you from the beginning all the wat to the finish of a correct stroke. They provide a wonderful swim analysis on top of the training, drills, and practice in the water. It is a great tool for triathletes who are stuck on their stroke or need a place to start with swimming. Knowledgeable and fun coaches! A great experience!"  -C., 2019 Camp Attendee
